Expo 2020
All the Reasons Why You Should Not Miss Expo 2020 Dubai!
For over a century, World Expos have been an exceptional stage where the world shared its inventions, groundbreaking ideas, and newest structures. The world has gathered to uncover a whole lot of innovations: from Heinz Ketchup & HDTVs to the Eiffel Tower & Al Wasl Plaza; the history of World Expos is filled with technology, culture, architecture, art, and much more.
Expo 2020 Dubai is a marvelous continuation of this international tradition as it brings the world together in the Middle East for the first time in history. With more than 190 country pavilions, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and experience a multitude of different nations and cultures in one place. The main themes of the Expo are: Sustainability, Mobility & Opportunity and each of them has its own district. Make no mistake, you DO NOT want to miss them!
Starting with the Sustainability District, you can walk through a waterfall in the Brazil Pavilion, explore the rainforest and a Hanging Garden in the Singapore Pavilion, check out the coral reefs in the Hammour House, or visit the labs and experience the German technological innovations at the Germany Pavilion.
Then, move on towards the Mobility District and witness the meeting between the physical and digital worlds. There is a lot to experience in this District! Start by taking a ride on the world’s largest passenger lift that can transport 160+ people at a time. Then, maybe try to build your own robot or design a spaceship. Don’t miss out on learning more about the UAE Space Programme and the Emirates Mars Mission. Also, remember to visit the 330-metre track that showcases cutting-edge vehicles and mobility devices.
The Opportunity District is a whole other story where each Pavilion offers a new experience. For example, the UK Pavilion brings us all together to create a collective message that continuously changes and is shown on the building’s exterior through an AI sculpture that was inspired by the great Stephen Hawking. Whereas the Switzerland Pavilion offers you the opportunity to take a hike through Switzerland to the top of an Alp and emerge through the fog. The “Garden of Opportunities” in the Monaco Pavilion is a kaleidoscopic fantasy garden that offers you a new way to view life. If you visit the Ukraine Pavilion, you will get a chance to discover how future technologies shape the world and you will also see a revolutionary e-bike that can go up to 380 km on a single charge.
That’s not all you get to experience! Expo 2020 Dubai has a lot more to offer and its calendar is PACKED! You can find live concerts of pop artists and singers, classical music concerts, cultural performances of different nations, folk music shows, dance shows, sculpture shows, poetry nights, operas, theatrical performances, and even fashion shows. The Expo also offers a wide variety of options for food with more than 80 restaurants presenting dishes from all around the world and an assortment of experiences that include street foods, sustainable dining, and world cuisines. Not to mention the ultimate culinary experience: “The Future of Food: Epochal Banquet”: a 2-hour, 3-course innovative dining journey across the history of food and into the future of humans, food, and artificial intelligence.
